Situated just outside the picturesque village of Delgany, County Wicklow, this exceptional new build residence was constructed within the grounds of a mature garden plot. Designed by Culligan Architects, the project was carefully planned to preserve the site's existing mature trees, creating a home that feels seamlessly integrated into its natural landscape.

Site Orientation, Natural Light & Landscape Design

Positioned on the upper western boundary of the plot, the house was strategically oriented to optimize natural light and capture surrounding countryside views. A natural stream meandering through the site naturally divides the property into two distinct garden zones, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere and spatial experience of the residence.

Buff Brick Architecture & Rural Form

The home’s distinct two-volume composition draws inspiration from traditional rural architecture while maintaining a modern aesthetic. Externally, a tactile palette of buff brick was chosen to complement the natural tones of the surrounding trees and flora. Inside, light-filled spaces featuring crisp white walls and natural timber floor finishes deliver a serene, light-filled interior.
