The thoughtful and considered renovation of a 19th-century coach house, a protected structure, has transformed it into a vibrant studio space for architects. This historic building, which dates back to the mid-1800s, has been preserved as an independent entity, honoring its legacy as a standalone structure. To enhance the connection between the coach house and the newly constructed residence, an external courtyard was designed, cleverly utilizing the site's unique geometric constraints. This courtyard not only serves as a welcoming entrance but also allows natural light to permeate both buildings, creating a dynamic and engaging spatial experience that leads visitors to the main house's front door.
